How do we collect your data?

Your data is collected in two ways: Firstly, you provide us with this data directly. This could be data that you enter into a contact form, for example.

Other data is automatically collected by our IT systems when you visit the website, either automatically or after you have given your consent. These are mainly technical data (e.g., internet browser, operating system, or time of page visit). This data is collected automatically as soon as you enter this website.

What do we use your data for?

Some of the data is collected to ensure the correct functioning of the website. Other data can be used to analyze your user behavior.

What rights do you have regarding your data?

You have the right to request information about your personal data processed by us. Specifically, you can request information about the personal data as such, the purpose of the processing, the storage duration, or, if this is not possible, the criteria for determining this duration, the origin of your data, if it was not collected from you, and possibly about the existence of automated individual decisions and possibly about the recipients or categories of recipients to whom personal data is disclosed.

You also have the right to revoke any consent you may have given for the use of your personal data at any time.

You can assert your aforementioned rights at any time by contacting us at the address provided.

If you believe that the processing of your personal data by us is contrary to applicable data protection regulations, you have the option of filing a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.

For this and other questions on the subject of data protection, you can contact us at any time.

When you visit this website, your surfing behavior may be statistically evaluated. This is primarily done using so-called analysis programs.

Detailed information on these analysis programs can be found in the following privacy policy.

This may include, among other things, IP addresses, contact requests, meta and communication data, contract data, contact details, names, website access, and other data generated through a website.

External hosting is done for the purpose of fulfilling contracts with our potential and existing customers and in the interest of a secure, fast, and efficient provision of our online services by a professional provider. Processing is carried out solely based on this legal basis if consent has been requested. Consent is revocable at any time.

Our host(s) will only process your data to the extent necessary to fulfill their performance obligations and will follow our instructions with regard to this data.

We use the following host:

METANET AG
Josefstrasse 218

Order Processing

We have entered into a contract for order processing to use the above-mentioned service. This is a contract required by data protection law, which ensures that the host processes the personal data of our website visitors only according to our instructions and in compliance with data protection regulations.

We make efforts in collaboration with our hosting providers to protect databases from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or falsification as much as possible.

We would like to point out that data transmission over the Internet (e.g., communication by email) can have security gaps. Complete protection of data from third-party access is not possible.

Unless a more specific storage period has been specified in this privacy policy, your personal data will remain with us until the purpose for data processing no longer applies. If you assert a legitimate deletion request or revoke your consent to data processing, your data will be deleted unless we have other legally permissible reasons for storing your personal data (e.g., tax or commercial law retention periods); in the latter case, the deletion will occur once these reasons no longer apply.

Note on Data Transfer to Data Protection Non-Compliant Third Countries and Transfer to US Companies That Are Not DPF-Certified

We use, among other things, tools from companies located in data protection non-compliant third countries as well as US tools whose providers are not certified under the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF). When these tools are active, your personal data may be transferred to and processed in these countries. Please note that in data protection non-compliant third countries, no data protection level comparable to Switzerland can be guaranteed.

We would like to point out that the USA, as a safe third country, generally has a data protection level comparable to Switzerland. Data transfer to the USA is therefore permissible if the recipient has certification under the “Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework” (DPF) or has appropriate additional guarantees. Information on transfers to third countries, including data recipients, can be found in this privacy policy.

Recipients of Personal Data

As part of our business activities, we work with various external entities. In some cases, the transfer of personal data to these external entities is also necessary. We only disclose personal data to external entities when necessary for the fulfillment of a contract, when we are legally obligated to do so, when we have a legitimate interest in the disclosure, or when another legal basis permits data transfer. When using data processors, we only pass on personal data of our customers based on a valid contract for data processing.

SSL or TLS Encryption

This site uses SSL or TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as orders or inquiries that you send to us as the site operator. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the change in the address line of the browser from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser line.

When SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

4. Data Collection on This Website

Cookies

Our website uses so-called “cookies.” Cookies are small data packets and do not cause any damage to your device. They are either stored temporarily for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently (permanent cookies) on your device. Session cookies are automatically deleted after your visit. Permanent cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them yourself or they are automatically deleted by your web browser.

Cookies can come from us (First-Party-Cookies) or from third-party companies (so-called Third-Party-Cookies). Third-Party-Cookies enable the integration of certain services from third-party companies within websites (e.g., cookies for processing payment services).

Cookies serve various functions. Many cookies are technically necessary because certain website functions would not work without them (e.g., the shopping cart function or video display). Other cookies can be used to evaluate user behavior or for advertising purposes.

You can configure your browser to notify you about the setting of cookies and allow cookies only in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies in certain cases or in general, and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. Deactivating cookies may limit the functionality of this website.

Details about which cookies and services are used on this website can be found in this privacy policy.

The data collected in this way will be stored until you ask us to delete it, delete the Usercentrics cookie yourself, or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies. Mandatory legal retention periods remain unaffected.

The Usercentrics banner on this website was configured with the help of eRecht24. You can recognize this by the eRecht24 logo appearing in the banner. The banner itself is provided exclusively by Usercentrics.

Order Processing

We have concluded a contract for order processing for the use of the above-mentioned service. This is a contract required by data protection law that ensures that Usercentrics processes the personal data of our website visitors only according to our instructions.

  • Browser type and browser version

  • Referrer URL
  • Hostname of the accessing computer
  • Time of the server request

Mandatory legal provisions—especially legal retention periods—remain unaffected.

5. Analytics Tools and Advertising

Google Analytics

This website uses features of the web analytics service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Google Analytics allows the website operator to analyze the behavior of website visitors. In this process, the website operator receives various usage data, such as page views, duration of stay, operating systems used, and the origin of the user. This data is attributed to the user’s device. There is no assignment to a user ID.

Furthermore, with Google Analytics, we can record, among other things, your mouse and scrolling movements and clicks. Google Analytics also uses various modeling approaches to supplement the collected data sets and applies machine-learning technologies in data analysis.

Google Analytics uses technologies that enable the recognition of the user for the purpose of analyzing user behavior (e.g., cookies or device fingerprinting). The information collected by Google about the use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

The use of this service is based on your consent. Consent is revocable at any time.

6. Our Services

Handling of Applicant Data

We offer you the opportunity to apply to us (e.g., via email, by post, or via an online application form). Below, we inform you about the scope, purpose, and use of your personal data collected during the application process. We assure that the collection, processing, and use of your data is in compliance with applicable data protection law and all other legal provisions and that your data will be treated in strict confidence.

Scope and Purpose of Data Collection

If you submit an application to us, we process your associated personal data (e.g., contact and communication data, application documents, notes taken during interviews, etc.) to the extent necessary to make a decision regarding employment. The legal basis for this is § 26 BDSG under German law (initiation of an employment relationship), Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR (general contract negotiations), and—provided you have given consent—Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR. Consent can be revoked at any time. Within our company, your personal data will only be forwarded to persons involved in processing your application.

If the application is successful, the data you have submitted will be stored in our data processing systems based on § 26 BDSG and Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR for the purpose of carrying out the employment relationship.

Retention Period of Data

If we are unable to offer you a job, if you reject a job offer, or if you withdraw your application, we reserve the right to retain the data you have submitted for up to 6 months from the end of the application procedure (rejection or withdrawal of the application) based on our legitimate interests (Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR). Afterwards, the data will be deleted, and the physical application documents will be destroyed. The retention serves in particular as evidence in the event of a legal dispute. If it is evident that the data will be necessary after the expiry of the 6-month period (e.g., due to an impending or pending legal dispute), deletion will only take place when the purpose for further retention no longer applies.

Longer retention may also take place if you have given appropriate consent (Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR) or if statutory retention obligations oppose deletion.

Use of Fast Fonts

This site uses web fonts from Monotype GmbH (fonts.com or fast.fonts.net) for the uniform display of fonts. When you visit a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into your browser cache.

Fonts.com may log this call, meaning that your IP address will be associated with our website on fonts.com.

The use of these web fonts is in the interest of a uniform and attractive presentation. This constitutes a legitimate interest on the part of our company. If your browser does not support web fonts, a standard font from your computer will be used.

Our Social Media Presence

This Privacy Policy Applies to the Following Social Media Accounts

Data Processing by Social Networks

We maintain publicly accessible profiles on social networks. The specific social networks we use are listed below.

Social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, etc., can usually comprehensively analyze your user behavior when you visit their website or a website with integrated social media content (e.g., like buttons or advertising banners). By visiting our social media presence, numerous data processing activities relevant to privacy are triggered. In detail:

If you are logged into your social media account and visit our social media presence, the operator of the social media portal can assign this visit to your user account. Your personal data may also be collected if you are not logged in or do not have an account with the respective social media portal. In this case, this data collection is carried out, for example, via cookies stored on your device or by recording your IP address.

Using the data thus collected, the operators of the social media portals can create user profiles in which your preferences and interests are stored. This way, interest-based advertising can be displayed to you both within and outside the respective social media presence. If you have an account with the respective social network, interest-based advertising can be displayed on all devices on which you are or were logged in.

Please note that we cannot track all processing activities on social media portals. Depending on the provider, further processing operations may therefore be carried out by the operators of the social media portals. For details, please refer to the terms of use and privacy policies of the respective social media portals.

Legal Basis

Our social media presence is intended to provide as comprehensive a presence on the Internet as possible. This is a legitimate interest. The analysis processes initiated by the social networks are based on divergent legal bases to be specified by the operators of the social networks (e.g., consent).

Controller and Assertion of Rights

When you visit one of our social media accounts (e.g., Facebook), we, along with the operator of the social media platform, are responsible for the data processing activities triggered during this visit. You can assert your rights (information, correction, deletion, limitation of processing, data portability, and complaint) both against us and against the operator of the respective social media portal (e.g., against Facebook).

Please note that despite the shared responsibility with the social media portal operators, we do not have full control over the data processing activities of the social media portals. Our possibilities largely depend on the corporate policy of the respective provider.

Storage Duration

The data directly collected by us via the social media presence will be deleted from our systems as soon as you request us to delete it, you revoke your consent to its storage, or the purpose for data storage is no longer applicable. Stored cookies remain on your device until you delete them. Mandatory legal provisions, especially retention periods, remain unaffected.

We have no influence on the storage duration of your data, which is stored by the operators of social networks for their own purposes. For details, please consult the privacy policy of the respective social network (e.g., in their privacy policy, see below).

Your Rights

You have the right at any time to receive free information about the origin, recipient, and purpose of your stored personal data. You also have the right to object, to data portability, and to file a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. Furthermore, you can request the correction, blocking, deletion, and, under certain circumstances, the restriction of the processing of your personal data.
